Free Style Class!

Let me tell ya… I hate mornings.

Let me rephrase that, my natural waves of energy spike at night. Which is great at times, but this has always left me feeling drained and exhausted in the mornings. Leaving me craving 5 more minutes of sleep, instead of doing something that will get my day started on the right track (working out, leisurely breakfast, reading a magazine, etc.).

Of course, 5 minutes is never 5 minutes and I would always end up rushed and running out the door making my entire day feel hassled and stressful.

Here is a little secret, it doesn’t have to be like this. Let’s be real, I will never be a “morning person”, but I have come to love mornings!

Why??

Because mornings set the tone for the rest of your day, and I want every day to be more pleasurable! Here’s how:

I stopped hitting the snooze. I know 5 more minutes of sleep seems like the best thing when you’re tired, but it actually messes with your REM cycles. Instead, I try to get up a little earlier than the time it will take me to get ready, and I spend time doing something just for me.

Not only does it feel great to have that “me time” before I start the day, but since I’m not a morning person and naturally move slower it gives me that extra time so I don’t feel rushed, all in all making the rest of my day less stressful (who doesn’t want less stress?!)!

And this is only scratching the surface, as there are SO many other ways you can ensure you have a more energetic, pleasurable and less-stressful day… every day!
