Recently I was shopping with a style coaching client who after years of hard work had lost over 100 pounds! She is truly an inspiration. But even with her ‘new’ body, she was being hard on herself in the fitting room about her legs being too short and stocky.
When she looked in the fitting room mirror she still saw the overweight woman, but in others eyes, including my own, she was healthy and chic!
The next time we got together I had her do a simple yet effective exercise to help her begin to see herself for what she really is–a beautiful woman with strong NOT stocky legs!
Believe it or not the next time I saw her she was singing a new tune about her body! She admitted that every now and then she would still have thoughts of “my legs are fat”, but that she knew how to tackle those negative thoughts now.
