Day Two: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Walking into Lincoln Center for the first time yesterday was truly exhilarating…the bustling people dressed in black demanding orders into their headsets, the actual Mercedes car display, the huge screen showcasing whatever show was occurring at that moment, the petit salon where fashionistas were polishing their nails with fall’s hottest colors…I was in sensory overload & I was in heaven.

AT THE PORTS 1961 SHOW AT LINCOLN CENTER

The opening ‘scene’ of the Ports show…my friend Jamie, the Trend Director at Style Sight, and I were in awe by the pumping music, the ethereal colors & dresses, and the feminine billowing hair of the models.

Gorgeous spring coats in neutrals made an appearance on the runway

Amidst all of the neutrals, there was a little pop of color like this draped asymmetric dress in fuchsia

And the royal green blouse…

Designer Fiona of Ports showed numerous goddess like floor length gowns…absolutely breathtaking.

I NEED this metallic jumpsuit.

Sparkle!! Loved the way this dress looked on the runway…the fabric was luminous & the embellishments were blindingly gorgeous.  And I want my hair to look like that every day please.

C’est fini!  The Ports show was one of my favorites so far with the feminine, ethereal, goddess elements– Fiona was spot on for Spring 2011.

Olivia Palermo & her boyfriend leaving the Ports 1961 show.  Olivia is on the MTV show ‘The City’, as well as a contributor at Elle Magazine.

Also spotted at the Ports 1961 show, Eric McCormak aka Will from Will & Grace…he & his wife/girlfriend/lover were quite affectionate throughout the show.

One of my favorite outfits at Lincoln Center yesterday…her full 1950’s inspired cafe au lait colored leather skirt was DIVINE.

The always dapper gentleman of the men’s fashion blog, Street Etiquette, at Lincoln Center.

AT THE TADASHI SHOJI PRESENTATION AT LINCOLN CENTER

The trend for Spring 2011 seems to be neutrals & pale, pale pastels with goddess draping & ruffles, lace, and sheer overlays…oooohhh how I love it all!  And Tadashi did a beautiful job of capturing these trends in his Spring 2011 Collection.

Again a pop of purple woven into the neutral color palette..

AT THE BCBG MAXAZRIA SHOW AT LINCOLN CENTER

I sadly didn’t have my camera for this show so pardon the iPhone pictures…

Hahaha the best I could do to capture a photo of Anna Wintour & Virginia Smith from Vogue…as you can see the photographers were swarming the Queen Bee of the Fashion World.

Fellow fashion bloggers sitting front row at BCBG…Rumi Neely from Fashion Toast & Bryan Boy.

I have to say while BCBG was a fabulous experience with the celeb spotting & the energy.. I wasn’t that impressed with the collection.  Sorry for the lack of pictures, the ones from my iPhone didn’t turn out so great :(  But you’re really not missing much, the color palette was lovely with neutrals, mustard yellow, and vibrant coral but the designs were too simplistic & not in a fabulous minimalist way.

AT FASHION’S NIGHT OUT

My fabulous friend Belinda & I at the Diane von Furstenberg Fashion’s Night Out event…it was a blast!!  Complimentary champagne, curry chicken treats, a bad ass DJ, and a photobooth :)

The lovely & always chic Diane von Furstenberg walking in the Meatpacking District to her own FNO party

Some fashionistas hopping about the Meatpacking District from party to party…LOVE her sweats tucked into her over the knee nude boots!

Next stop….the Bond Street Block Party!  Oak, Billy Reid, and a huge carnival in the cobblestone street!

The Block Party even featured circus performers…

And lastly, my wonderful friends Belinda & Hasi with the Bond Street Block Party Carnival behind them :)
