Ahhh it’s my favorite time of year..New York Fashion Week!! A time to be inspired, a time to see my fab NYC friends, and a time to get the inside scoop on what’s on trend and important for the next season!
Enjoy a peek into day one of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in NYC:
Carlos Miele showcased his Brazilian inspired collection at Lincoln Center.
Paperthin leather and cut outs appeared on multiple runways for the fall season.
Love the two DJs jamming on the runway!
The evening gowns were spectacular, and truly made the show! I can see some of my clients rocking these gowns at their next black tie event.
Miele takes a bow!
I loved running into New Orleans-based Fashionista Katie (far right) at fashion week! Whoop whoop Southern Femmes!
Im sporting a velvet dress from Oak NYC, Alexander Wang boots, Portobello Road pashmina, Target leather jacket, and a Celine tote.
Reem Acra was one of the best and most stunning shows I’ve seen in quite some time! I could see all of his gowns on the red carpet!
Again leather is huge trend for fall 2012!
Notice again cut outs on the runway-even in evening wear!
I was invited by the lovely ladies at Alison Brod PR to check out backstage at the Zero Maria Cornejo show. I watched as Phyto (my favorite hair care line) stylist Martin Cullen worked his magic on the models.
Watch behind the scenes here:
Chris Benz is always one of my favorite presentations every season at NYFW. And this year was no different– absolutely spectacular styling, fabrics, colors, and inspiration. The collection was a glam one with the models dressed as updated 1960s ladies.
Gotta love those 60’s hair-dos haha!
One of my favs– how great is that combination of fabrics?!
Fashion week is never complete without seeing my insanely talented friend Elizabeth. Friends since our design days at Parsons Pre-College, we always have the best time, and she always shows me the hot spots!
We enjoyed a delicious meal and margaritas at Pulqueria in Chinatown. The restaurant is tucked away and you can only recognize the place by the candle lit stairwell. I highly recommend the tuna tostada!
The night would not be complete without drinks at a great mixologist bar, Apotheke. There was even a jazz band playing as we enjoyed our speciality drinks. Mine was the Dr. Ruth that consisted on vodka, champagne, rosemary, and lemonade. Yum!
