Isoude long gowns

After attending the Spring 2011 shows in NYC it is clear to me that fresh, minimalistic, yet still refined & chic is on trend & here to stay!  Isoude designer Katie Brierley exudes that with her Fall 2010 collection that I had the upmost pleasure of seeing last week at Plain Clothes in Homewood.  First off, the designer, Katie is divine, so personable, & a true artist.  Proof of her artist mastery are her hand painted fabrics, her luxe cashmere dresses & capes, and most excitingly…her gown being featured in NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology Museum!!

Now begin your lust for the Isoude Fall 2010 Collection, I sure as hell did!  In Katie’s own words this collection is representative of purity, strength, walking one’s own path, & as always a modern yet feminine feel.

Isoude gown

The perfect evening gown.  This is the kind of dress you would have forever.  Classic yet easily made ‘trendy’ with a patent leather skinny belt.  Katie & I also giddily chatted about how lovely these evening gowns would look paired with Hunter wellies at a chic country party…especially her evening gown in a plush velvet!

Isoude detailed burgundy dress

This photo does not do the color or fabric of this cocktail dress justice.  This lush, rich burgundy dress hugs a woman in all the right places.

All hand-crafted.  Katie is a true American couturier!

Isoude cape

OK…my absolute obsession…the burgundy cashmere cape lined in a sumptuous silk…ohhh & made complete with pockets!  I literally could live in this cape…like sleep, work, eat, etc. in it!

My favorite, the cape!

Haha I wasn’t kidding, love this cape!

Katie Brierley

The fabulously talented Katie Brierley of Isoude in one of her own Fall 2010 pieces, a black leather classic yet fresh dress.

For more on Katie & her Isoude collection: http://www.isoude.com.  And make sure to contact Katie for questions & such on her pieces.  She is so easy to work with & as I said a true artist so she can create pieces that fit you better than any ready made piece you could pick up at a department store.  And when your clothes fit right, your day is instantly made a million times better-trust me!
