In honor of my first New York Fashion Week, I have been studying up on some of the most iconic designers. Their endless creativity and imagination never ceases to amaze and inspire me season after season, year after year. One of my all time favorite designers is Yves Saint Laurent. From his innovative designs, to the artistry in every detail of his work that made him the first living designer to receive a solo exhibition in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1983, he is truly a legendary designer. There is a new biopic about the life of the acclaimed French designer and I could not be more excited!
The film was released in France in early January, and while we wait patiently (or not so patiently in my case) for it’s release stateside. Here are other amazing fashion biopics and documentaries that will tide you over until then: The September Issue, Valentino: The Last Emperor, Notebook on Cities & Clothes, Bill Cunningham New York, The Tents, Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel, Catwalk, and Masters of Style: John Galliano.
Or you could just watch this trailer on repeat like I did…
