Day one of my younger sister, Chelsey & my shopping excursion in the fashion capital of the world & it was a success! (Haha obviously based on the plethora of shopping bags Chelsey & I accumulated shown in the picture above). Here are my favorite shopping haunts when I have the pleasure of escorting friends & family around NYC:
1. Bleeker Street (West Village)-Marc by Marc Jacobs, Intermix, Steven by Steve Madden, Ralph Lauren
2. Bond Street & Bowery Street (NOHO)- Billy Reid, Oak, Patricia Field, Blue & Cream
3. Lower East Side– In God We Trust, TG-170, Yumi Kim, Reed Space, Foley & Corinna, Szeki
4. Upper Fifth Avenue-Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendels, Barneys, Saks Fifth Avenue
5. SOHO– TopShop, Barneys CO-OP, H&M, Zara, Flying A
Today we covered Bleeker, Bond & Bowery Streets.…..One day down two more to go! Check out our favorite purchases from today:
‘Effortless Girly Girl’: Achieve this look with a flowy frock by Rory Beca from Intermix, black suede & patent leather thongs by Matt Bernson from Oak & either a mix of long, layered necklaces or one statement necklace.
Chelsey’s new black leather thongs by Matt Bernson exclusively for Oak
Summer Bohemian Chic– Achieve this look with a brightly patterned tunic that can be worn solo or with a pair of leggings (the IT item for fall!). Chelsey’s wearing her new tunic dress by Maeve from Anthropologie, a worn leather belt by Billy Reid & adorble jellie thongs from Old Navy.
Back detail of Chelsey’s new Billy Reid belt-gorgeous handcrafted woven leather. J’adore Billy Reid a fellow Alabamian!
Lastly my favorite purchase of the day– a studded pair of leather open toe flats by Pour la Victoire from Intermix. Super pumped! Can be worn with pretty much anything from a casual sundress to a pair of relaxed trousers & t-shirt.
The day would not have been complete without delicious food to energize us on our shopping adventure! Shopping + delectable NYC food = puuuuuuuuuure heaven!
Snack: polaroid (cool new application on my iPhone, love it!) of the ‘Elvis’ & the ‘Brownie’ cupcake from Crumbs Bakery–to DIE for if you’re an icing fan like moi!
Chelsey’s dinner: Trio of Noodles (acorn, butternut & brown rice) with wasabi soy sauce from Korean restaurant HanGawi. Not only did we have delicious & healthy cuisinary delights (haha we needed it after our Crumbs cupcake snack!) but the atmosphere of this Murray Hill restaurant is quite ‘zen-like’ complete with leave your shoes at the door & sit on the floor (don’t worry you get a comfy cushion). All in all a terrific experience!
My dish of choice-organic avocado bibimbap with brown rice & miso sauce-so fresh & flavorful!
MORE TO COME TOMORROW, BONNE NUIT (GOOD NIGHT)!
